For the bell bell pepper casserole, cut the seeded bell peppers into thin strips and saute in fat with the onion, also cut into small pieces, until soft and add salt.

Cook the pasta in salted water until not too soft, drain and mix with the cheese. Cut the ham into small cubes.

Beat the eggs with milk, salt and a pinch of nutmeg. Fill a greased baking dish in layers with pasta, ham and bell pepper strips.

Pour the eggs on top, spread butter flakes on top and bake the paprika casserole in the oven for about 45 minutes at medium heat.

Preparation Tip:

The paprika casserole tastes delicious even without ham. Simply replace it with another vegetable ingredient. With feta cheese the casserole gets a Mediterranean touch.
