Cream butter with sugar, add eggs gradually. Stir in almond kernels, baking powder, spices, flour, chocolate and rum.

Spread one third of the batter into a cake springform pan lined with baking paper, add cherries on top and cover with the remaining batter.

Bake the cherry cake for 40-50 minutes at 175 °C top/bottom heat.
