Ingredients:

Instructions:

For cooked sauerkraut, first chop the onion into rings and fry in small cubes of bacon until translucent.

Add the sauerkraut, tap water and let the sauerkraut simmer gently for about 1 hour. If necessary, add a little more tap water to prevent the sauerkraut from burning.

Grate the two raw potatoes and add them to the sauerkraut. Season the cooked sauerkraut with a little sugar and salt (important!).

Preparation Tip:

Cooked sauerkraut tastes really good when it has been in the refrigerator for a day and is warmed up for eating. It goes well with bratwurst and boiled potatoes.
