Instructions:

For the Djuvec recipe, first preheat the oven to 200 °C.

Then cut the lamb into coarse cubes. Peel the onions and cut into small cubes. Wash the zucchini, green beans, tomatoes and peppers, remove the stalk and the core and also cut into thin slices. Cut off the ends of the beans and divide them into pieces.

Now heat the oil in a pan and sear the lamb on all sides. Add the finely chopped onion and the crushed garlic clove and sauté briefly. Then deglaze with wine and let it steam for 20 minutes.

Now remove the meat from the pan, transfer to a large heatproof pot and add the chopped beans, zucchini and bell bell pepper. Also add the rice and season with half of the chopped basil and half of the remaining spices. Now layer the tomato slices as the top layer and pour soup over the whole thing. Spread the rest of the basil spice mixture on top.

Now just put the lid on the pot and cook the djuvec in the oven for about an hour.

Preparation Tip:

If you do not like lamb, it can be easily replaced with pork or beef. Djuvec recipe tastes delicious even in these variants!
