Instructions:

Separate the eggs. Cream butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and yolks. Add grated lemon zest.

Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into the mixture.

Mix flour and baking powder and stir into the batter alternately with milk and poppy seeds.

Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan and bake at 180 °C for approx. 45 minutes.
