Instructions:

Soak dried fruits except raisins in lukewarm water (1) for about 3 hours. Drain, chop and mix with rum, raisins, candied lemon peel, candied orange peel, almond kernels, sugar, vanilla sugar and spices.

Knead in half of the sourdough, divide the dough in half and form circles or hearts. Roll out the remaining sourdough thinly. Wrap hearts in it and let rise for 2 hours with the lid closed.

Prick several times and bake in heated oven at 200 degrees for about 1 hour. Bring remaining sugar to boil with water (2). Coat hearts thickly with it. Decorate with jelly fruits.

Tip: Always use aromatic spices to refine your dishes!
