Instructions:

For the sponge cake batter, first separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with 1/3 of the sugar until stiff. Mix the egg yolks with the remaining sugar.

Add the water and vanilla extract and mix well.

Finally, fold in the sifted flour/baking powder and the beaten egg whites. Pour onto a baking tray (line with baking paper).

Bake in a preheated oven (180 °C )for about 10-12 minutes.

Fill the sponge dough with jam or cream of your choice.
